Young Scientists Challenge Awards

In its quest to popularize and demystify science in the Pre-Tertiary and Tertiary, the Editorial Team for the Everyday Science for Schools (ESS) Magazine introduced a new challenge dubbed the Young Scientist Challenge. Advert for the challenge was placed in Volume 8 Number 2, 2021 edition of the ESS Magazine and circulated across the country. The challenge asked students to write and submit an essay on the topic “The Role of Science in Everyday Life” received from various participants across the country. The editorial team then screened the essays and came out with winners of the challenge.

The Editor, Prof. Jacob Agbenohevi took charge of the award ceremony. After an opening statement, the editor invited the award winners on stage, category by category amidst projection of their profiles. He then invited Senior Members of the GSA who took turns to present the awards. The award was sponsored by UNESCO
