MESSAGE FROM THE BRANCH PRESIDENT
Thank you for being part of this great Association.
The Ghana Science Association (GSA) is the biggest scientific grouping in the country with a history as old as Ghana itself. The GSA has been growing over the years, thanks to the dedicated scientists who sacrificed their time and resources to bring it to this level. It is time for you and I to contribute our bit to moving the GSA to a higher level.
As new executives, we have put in place an exciting list of programs to revamp the Accra Branch and give it back its glory as the eye of the GSA. Our plans include making the GSA more relevant to the enhancement of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in the country. We hope to touch every level of society from the basic education level to industry, not leaving out the informal sector.
As a member, we don’t want you to be left out. We will involve you in all our programs and activities. We will create the opportunities for you to sell yourself and your work. This we have already begun with a radio program on Starr FM 103.5 dubbed The Horizon, a weekly science program that airs every Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:00am. We have also secured funding to make short videos of professions in the sciences for awareness creation at the pre-tertiary levels. We have several exciting programs coming up.
Thankfully, you have been added to our mailing list and will now be among the first to hear about these exciting programs at the branch as well as national levels. On this note, I wish to welcome you to the new vibrant Accra Branch GSA. Feel free to reach out to us if you have some great ideas to bolster the branch and the entire GSA into a glorious future
